Basswood
100% basswood is the material used for our premium wood shutter. Basswood is a superior wood because it is among the straightest of hardwoods, with a fine uniform texture and consistent grain. It can be sanded and stained to a smooth finish. It is lightweight yet very strong, with excellent staining properties.

Polywood®
Our premium synthetic shutter is made from Polywood®, an engineered wood substitute. This material is unaffected by moisture and thus will resist warping, or cause cracking, chipping or peeling of the finish. We recommend this material in showers, small bathrooms, over kitchen sinks, garages and homes close to the ocean. We also recommend this material for homeowners who enjoy leaving windows open in all weather conditions.
